The Munich-based collective Arbeitsgruppe Lobotomie is radically breaking expectations with their new single „Das große Beben“ (The Great Tremor). Known for their profound sound and legendary live performances featuring Regina Ballerina, the band is now taking a surprisingly catchier direction. The track combines the group’s signature electronic DNA with driving Goth-Pop-Punk – calmer in its build-up, but as uncompromising as ever in its message.
A Wake-Up Call in a Danceable Guise
While pulsating synthesizers and infectious melodies drive the track, the lyrics pierce straight into societal apathy. „Das große Beben“ is an anthem against blindly functioning within the system: „Zum Überleben danach zu streben, sich anderen zu untergeben – ist das dein Leben?“ (Striving just to survive, submitting to others – is that your life?), ask Bakunin Eisner and Luna Tick.
